I loved the mix of theoretical and practical sessions throughout the week. The industrial chemistry breakthroughs lecture was fascinating, and the Python basics for chemists session gave me a new perspective on how coding is used in science. The practical workshop was the highlight for me, as it allowed us to apply what we had learned in a real-world setting!

The chemistry summer school was an incredible experience! The visit to the chemistry lab gave me hands-on experience with real experiments, and I particularly enjoyed learning about computational chemistry and how it’s used in modern research. The UCAS application session was also really helpful in guiding me towards a future in chemistry!

The week’s been very fun. We’ve done a lot of interesting research in computational chemistry as well as green chemistry. The lab experience was really great where we got to visit the diamond light source. My favourite part was the lab visit and the evening activities. We went out for a meal, went bowling and did karaoke.

The lab experience was really fun and I’ve learnt loads of cool stuff. Being in a lab made me want to do chemistry at uni. It’s definitely something that I see myself doing. On the programme it’s been so much fun, I’ve met lots of people from other courses and it’s a really good environment to be in.
