→ Do I have to live in the UK to do this?
To ensure a convenient experience for our international students residing overseas, we offer seamless arrangements. With 70% of our student body coming from abroad, we provide pick-up services from Heathrow airport to your accommodation, where a dedicated member of the Study Mind team will be there to warmly welcome you. Additionally, if required, we can also arrange transportation back to your departure terminal, ensuring a hassle-free journey.
→ How old does my child have to be to attend this?
We recommend this course to anyone aged 14-25. This means any child in Year 9 or above or any graduate entry applicant.
→ What is the cancellation policy?
Upon booking the work experience week, it is important to note that it becomes non-refundable as it involves extensive planning, including arrangements for accommodation, room bookings, and other logistical preparations. To guarantee your spot without any risk of losing it, you have the choice to secure your place by paying a non-refundable deposit of £500, with the remaining payment due prior to the start of the course.
→ Will my child have to travel between sites alone?
At our Economics Work Experience week, the safety of your child is our top priority. They will be under the constant care and supervision of the Study Mind Safeguarding team during any necessary travel.
→ What is the accommodation like and where will I be staying?
Students will stay in residential halls at UCL (University College London). Students will stay from the day before the course starts (Sunday) and check out on the last day (Friday), totalling 5 nights. Students will stay in single occupancy rooms and will be able to take advantage of communal living rooms during the evening. The Study Mind team will be on hand 24/7 to assist students throughout their stay.
→ How do I apply for a visa?
Students coming to the UK for the Work Experience will need a Standard Visitor visa- https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor
The Standard Visitor visa can only be applied for by parents/guardians and costs £100. They must apply through the UK Gov website only, You can name our course and Study Mind as the guardians of under 18s, and provide then the course information and booking confirmation when applying for the visa.
We recommend booking flights first before applying for the visa, as the visa needs proof of a return flight (the course end date might be enough, but might result in rejection).

→ For meals, do you deal with dietary requirements?
We understand that many of our students come from overseas and may have specific dietary preferences or requirements, including being vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, or halal, among others. Rest assured, we will make every effort to accommodate these needs and make the necessary adjustments to ensure your meals are suitable and enjoyable.

→ Who will be looking after my child?
Rest assured that your child will receive exceptional support from our dedicated and well-trained Study Mind staff throughout the programme. Our staff members undergo thorough DBS enhanced checks and are extensively trained in first aid and safeguarding protocols. We prioritise safety by providing a secure environment, including the presence of a female staff member on-site and within our accommodation premises. Additionally, students will have access to a 24-hour emergency contact number, which can be shared with parents and guardians to ensure utmost peace of mind.
→How many days does the Economics Work Experience run for?
The summer school programme spans five days, commencing at 9 am and concluding around 3:30 pm daily. Rest assured, you will receive a comprehensive timetable well in advance, outlining the precise timings for each session. If you choose to reside at UCL Halls, prepare for an enjoyable experience with our diverse range of evening activities, including movie nights, bowling, and various engaging options. Throughout the programme, you will explore a wide array of topics, including economists, financial analyst, investment banker, management consultant, and more.
→ Do I need to pay up front?
Recognising the financial challenges posed by the current Economic situation, we strive to provide flexibility by offering interest-free installment plans for 3, 6, and 12 months. Please note that while a non-refundable deposit of £500 is necessary to secure your spot, we aim to accommodate your needs by offering convenient payment options.
→ Do I need to book Study Mind's accommodation?
Although booking our accommodation is not mandatory, you have the option to commute or make your own independent arrangements if necessary. However, choosing our accommodation presents unique benefits. It allows you to live among fellow students participating in the work experience programme and provides access to the continuous support and guidance of our dedicated team throughout your entire stay.

Certainly! You can be confident that each student will be awarded a physical certificate, serving as undeniable evidence of their successful completion and active participation in the course.
