My name is Ananya, and I have just graduated with a Starred First Class in Land Economy (Law, Economics, and Environment) at the University of Cambridge. I performed exceptionally in all my modules, achieving a First in every subject, and was honored with the Noel Dean Prize for the best overall result in Land Economy, as well as four other university awards for my academic performance. I am now pursuing an MSc in Building Urban Design and Development at the Bartlett, UCL.

I have extensive experience in internships in finance, particularly in investment banking, and academic research in Economics and Development, having worked with researchers from Harvard, Princeton and IIT Delhi.

I have tutored for over 5 years now and have found great joy in working with individuals from various backgrounds. My professional journey has also included working with international clients, providing me with a broad perspective and understanding of diverse needs and expectations of different students.

Most recently, my focus has been on Oxbridge entrance tutoring, where I have encountered a wide range of interview processes. I am dedicated to tailoring my teaching to each tutee’s specific needs, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident.

I am an experienced, proactive, rigorous and energetic tutor, Oxbridge graduate and creative professional with extensive experience working as a teacher, support officer, and artist. I have a very strong academic record, having a achieved a Class I BA in Human, Social and Political Sciences at King’s College, Cambridge University, an MFA in Theatre Directing at Birkbeck College and all A and A at A Level and GCSE from Tiffin Girl’s School. I continue my love of academia into my life and it fuels all my creative work and work with young people. I love to teach, mentor and guide young people in academic and other areas of life, and have often been described as a good role model. I started teaching on my gap year in Minorca, as a sailing instructor, and have continued my passion tutoring part time ever since, including everything from 11+, English Language, Early Years, Oxbridge Entrance and History A Level through various organisations. My effective communication skills and positive energy have seen me excel in public facing roles. As a youth support worker, child support officer and workshop facilitator, I am also used to working with groups of people and managing difficult behaviour with a professional, yet kind and warm attitude.

Outside of teaching and youth work, I also work in the domestic abuse sector, having previously worked at Women’s Aid and currently employed at Refuge on the 24hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline, hoping to contribute to the ending of violence towards women and girls. I am a keen vegetable grower and avid reader of novels. I have lots of experience working in theatre and film and I watch and consume both many times a week. I worked for Potboiler Productions for a number of years and was assistant to the Director and Producer on The Little Stranger, working for the Oscar-nominated director, Lenny Abrahamson. For my directing work, I was awarded an OffWestEnd Award for my show ‘All the Little Lights’ in London, for best show of the Camden Fringe, and I won Best Director for my show ‘Knives and Forks’ at the Bitesize Festival in Hammersmith this year.

I love to write, play my accordion, cook and grow things too, and think cultivating hobbies and interests is essential for good learning habits!

I am studying in my final year for a Law BA honours at Downing College Cambridge, currently achiveing a first class and ranking 17th in my cohort of 235 students. The application process is a fresh memory to me – one which provides a clear awareness of how the process works and the methods of optimising outcomes; I made applications to Cambridge, LSE, UCL, Bristol and Glasgow, all of which were successful. In terms of my schooling background, I attended a state school, achieving 3 A*s at A-level and 9 grade 9s (equivalent to A**) at GCSE, meaning I am able to work with students of all backgrounds to enable them to achieve the very best results of which they are capable. As an Oxbridge Mentor at Zero Gravity, I am also accustomed to guiding applicants through the Oxbridge admissions process.

I have recently signed a training contract with a magic circle firm for after university, and I am thus well-placed to advise on applications to the legal field, as well as tutor students in the context of pursuing excellence within the legal sector.

Further, after attending John Locke Summer School in 2020 through their scholarship programme, I was contracted as an essay grader for the 2022 John Locke Essay Competition under the Law category – helping sift over 1000 essays. This, combined with my experience as Deputy Editor in Chief of a political blog, enables me to aid in essay-writing and competitions both in terms of ensuring grammatical/structural accuracy, as well allowing me to engage with arguments and re-angle perspectives within essays for conceptual soundness and effective delivery. With 7 years of competitive debate experience, compounded by my experience of essays and argumentation through my degree, I thoroughly enjoy helping others draft and develop essays.

Hello, I’m Vaneeza, and I’m excited to help your child excel in English, Law, History, Philosophy, or Spanish from GCSE to A-Level. I am a finalist studying Law at Cambridge and achieved 3 A*s at A-Level, so I know firsthand what it takes to succeed in these subjects. I hope to make essay-based subjects more engaging, by drawing on broader questions and honing in on what makes excellent analysis.
