Hi I’m Alina!. I’m a fourth year medical student at the University of Liverpool. I really enjoy meeting new people and helping them to achieve their goals so tutoring is a great fit!

At A-level I studied Biology (A*), Chemistry (A) and English Literature (A*).

At GCSE, the main subjects I studied were: Maths (8), English Literature (9), English Language (9), Biology (9), Physics (9) and Chemistry (8)

The academic demands of applying to medicine are high, and as such, I had to develop a strong work ethic and revision/exam techniques, which I am more than happy to pass on in our sessions.

I used tutors throughout secondary school, mainly for help with Biology, Chemistry and English. I found the help of my tutors invaluable; without it, I don’t think I would have achieved the same grades or even gotten into medical school!

I also think that the interview preparation course that I attended was crucial to me receiving offers from Medical schools. This allowed me to face my fears by stimulating the interview environment so boosted my confidence for the real ones. I also think the feedback I received was so useful to reflect on and analyse in order to improve my performance. I therefore would really like to help others in the same position!

I have recently graduated with First Class honours in Law as a Senior Harris Scholar of Downing College, University of Cambridge, and will be proceeding on to a training contract in corporate law next year at a Magic Circle firm. For the past 2 years, I have tutored in Oxbridge admissions, the John Locke Essay competition (having acted as an essay grader for the Institute), the LNAT (having achieved a 33), and general interview preparation both for Oxbridge as well as for training contracts.
Coming from a state school background, I achieved 9 grade 9s at GCSE and 3 As at A-level in Maths, History, and Religious Studies. Motivated, friendly and passionate about education, I’ve always been a person who strives to do their best. Hopefully I’ll be able to use this attitude to share some of my knowledge & skills to help better the education – and more importantly the lives of those I tutor.

I’m a recent university graduate, with experience working in education at all levels of the secondary school system. Having recently been through university I know from first hand experience some of the challenges students are faced with. I’ll be able to apply what I’ve learnt the hard way – what to do and what not to do – during my tutoring.

Both of my parents have worked in education as teachers for decades, so I’ve been personally attached to the education industry for as long as I can remember. Their passion has been passed onto me through the years, so I hope to be able to pass this on as well.

I’m Rachael, a dedicated and passionate tutor with over 10 years of experience in supporting students across a range of subjects, including English Literature, English Language, Media, Film Studies, and Art. My approach to tutoring is grounded in a belief that every student can succeed with the right guidance, and I strive to create a learning environment that is both supportive and engaging.

I hold two A*s in English A-Level, a First-Class BA and a Distinction MA in Film Studies, as well as two MSc degrees from University College London. I am currently pursuing a doctoral (PhD) programme in child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapy. This academic background, combined with my extensive experience working in specialist schools and providing private tuition to vulnerable children and adults, has equipped me with a deep understanding of how to tailor lessons to the individual needs of each student.

My lessons are designed to be both structured and interactive, with clear goals and a focus on building confidence. I aim to ensure that students feel fully supported in their learning and are empowered to achieve their desired outcomes. I am committed to helping each student reach their full potential and approach each lesson with a positive and motivating mindset.
