I’m 23 years old, originally from Newcastle and now based in London. I am a graduate with a deep passion for language and literature, and I specialize in tutoring English, Classics, Latin, and Ancient Greek. My undergraduate degree in Classics and English and masters degree in English Studies have provided me with a robust understanding of these subjects, allowing me to guide students through the complexities of ancient texts and the nuances of the English language.

I have enjoyed my four years studying Classics at Oxford immensely, and am now doing a PGCE (Teacher Training) at Cambridge University. I have tutored for four years on MyTutor, as well as leading eductaional programmes on prestigious international summer schools. When I’m not reading about Julius Caesar, I like debating, hiking, kayaking, and just generally exploring outdoors. I’ve been involved in Scouting in some form or another since I was six and in my current role as an assistant leader love helping young people learn new skills while having fun in the process.

I try to blend learning techniques, selecting the technique to fit the type of learning. I’m more than happy to be flexible about how I approach teaching as I think it is important that the teaching fits the student, not the other way around!

I have graduated from the University of Oxford with a 2.1 in Philosophy and Theology. Prior to attending Oxford, I achieved A*A*A* in English Literature, Latin and Religious Studies, with 5 A*S, 4 Grade 9s and a Grade 8 in GCSEs.

For the past few years, I have been a private tutor which has also entailed mentoring young students and seeing them progress and achieving their dream spots at their universities. This has enabled me to build client relationships and to handle multiple concurrent tasks, since I balanced tutoring with my ability to thrive in Oxford’s rigorous academic environment. I also believe that I work well under time constraints and to meet deadlines, which is an ability that my time at Oxford has prepared me well for.

I am well-placed to provide tuition at 11 and 13+, as well as English Language, English Literature and RE GCSE, A-Level and degree-level tuition. I am also up-to-date on examination syllabi and the requirements needed for achieving top marks.

I have tutoring experience in GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, GCSE Religious Studies and Oxbridge Classics admissions. I also mentor students in application for Oxbridge Classics, as I changed degrees in my third year, and assisted a student in her successful entrance to Oxford for Classics via personal statement, interview/test advice and general information about the course and university life. Therefore, I am available to support Oxbridge Classics admissions.
