Hi there! My name is Grace. In 2023, I finished a French Literature MSt at Keble College, Oxford, for which I received a Distinction. I also completed a History and French BA for my undergraduate at Somerville College, Oxford and got a First Class. I’ve been tutoring for seven years now so I have lots of experience, and I really enjoy being able to help students wherever I can. Throughout my time in education, I always put my academic studies first, and I know how important it is to do your best in exams; I find it extremely rewarding when I can help students to achieve this. Having got all A*s in GCSE and A-Level, and successfully passed through Oxford’s rigorous admissions process, I know first-hand what is required to do well at all of these stages. I am super passionate about all things History and Politics as well as International Relations, English literature and Economics. I have graduated from the University of Oxford with a 2.1 in Philosophy and Theology. Prior to attending Oxford, I achieved A*A*A* in English Literature, Latin and Religious Studies, with 5 A*S, 4 Grade 9s and a Grade 8 in GCSEs.

For the past few years, I have been a private tutor which has also entailed mentoring young students and seeing them progress and achieving their dream spots at their universities. This has enabled me to build client relationships and to handle multiple concurrent tasks, since I balanced tutoring with my ability to thrive in Oxford’s rigorous academic environment. I also believe that I work well under time constraints and to meet deadlines, which is an ability that my time at Oxford has prepared me well for.

I have had over 12 years of experience working with high-risk offenders within the Prison Service and have also worked as a Youth Mentor in an alternative education setting. • I am a trained facilitator in national accredited cognitive behavioural therapy programmes, specially targeted at the clinical needs of offenders. These include TSP The Thinking Skills Programme (‘TSP’) and Controlling Anger and Learning to Manage it (‘CALM’)
• A highly skilled and experienced Offender Behaviour Programme Treatment Manager, with 12 years’ experience working with high-risk offenders within the Prison Service, who presented with a range of clinical needs and mental health issues. This included working with a multidisciplinary team including Education, Forensic Psychologists and the Mental Health Team, to assess prisoners’ treatment needs
• I currently work as a Youth Mentor in an alternative educational setting which encourages learners to explore different methods of learning and development.
• I have also worked in the private sector, as a Trading Director for a sales company, DS Group International Limited. This involved sourcing, trading and distributing liquidated/clearance consumer stock from companies nationally and globally.
