Our goal is to offer diverse and comprehensive work experience across various areas within the business sector, allowing students to gain valuable insights and practical knowledge in their chosen fields.

To ensure convenience for our international students residing overseas, we have made seamless arrangements a top priority. With 70% of our student body coming from abroad, we offer pick-up services from Heathrow airport to your accommodation, where a dedicated member of the Study Mind team will provide a warm welcome. Additionally, if necessary, we can also arrange transportation back to your departure terminal, ensuring a hassle-free experience from start to finish.

We recommend this course to anyone aged 14-25. This means any child in Year 9 or above or any graduate entry applicant.

Once you have confirmed your booking for the work experience week, please note that it is non-refundable. This policy is in place due to the thorough planning involved, including arrangements for accommodation, room bookings, and various logistics. To secure your spot and eliminate the risk of losing it, we kindly request a non-refundable deposit of £500, with the remaining payment due before the start of the course.

Ensuring the safety of your child is our utmost priority during our Business Work Experience week. They will be under the continuous care and supervision of our dedicated Study Mind Safeguarding team during all necessary travel. Although there is a 30-minute train journey between the accommodation and the hospitals/hospice, please be reassured that your child will be accompanied throughout the entire journey for their peace of mind.

Throughout the duration of the course, you will be staying in comfortable single rooms at UCL Accommodation. Breakfast and dinner will be provided, and your stay will begin on the Sunday night prior to the course start date, spanning a total of 6 nights until Friday. The premises are equipped with round-the-clock security, and our dedicated Study Mind staff, trained in first aid and safeguarding, will be available to offer support. If needed, we can also arrange airport pick-up services to ensure a seamless arrival experience for you.

Students coming to the UK for the Work Experience will need a Standard Visitor visa- https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor

The Standard Visitor visa can only be applied for by parents/guardians and costs £100. They must apply through the UK Gov website only, You can name our course and Study Mind as the guardians of under 18s, and provide then the course information and booking confirmation when applying for the visa.

We recommend booking flights first before applying for the visa, as the visa needs proof of a return flight (the course end date might be enough, but might result in rejection).

The Business Summer School programme spans five days, commencing at 9 am and concluding around 3:30 pm daily. A detailed timetable will be provided well in advance, outlining specific timings for each session. If you choose to stay at UCL Halls, you can look forward to a variety of enjoyable evening activities, including movie nights, bowling, and other engaging options. While booking our accommodation is not mandatory, you have the option to either commute or make your own independent arrangements if necessary.
