I am a dedicated third-year medical student at Hull York Medical School with a passion for teaching and mentoring others. I have experience providing one-to-one tutoring for A-level Biology, GCSE Biology and tutoring for university entrance interviews. I excel at simplifying complex concepts and tailoring lessons to meet each student’s individual needs. My strong academic background, exceptional communication skills, and patient approach allow me to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where every question is welcomed, and no concept is too small to revisit.

I have successfully helped students gain admission into their top choice universities such as graduate-entry Medicine at Warwick, Medicine at Hull York Medical School, and Physiotherapy at Brighton through my academic and interview tutoring. Hello! My name is Shreya and I’m Indian but lived in Japan my entire life. I’m currently in the UK for university as I am studying Human Sciences at UCL. I really love biology and maths and would also love to keep using my Japanese here so if you’re interested in any of these subjects you’ve come to the right tutor.

As a student who has completed both the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the International GCSE (IGCSE), in both of which I have received outstanding results, I will be a great tutor for you for these secondary education programs. Not only will I ensure that you understand the content required by the specification, but I will also provide you with skills and tips to ensure you achieve outstanding results in your exams as well! I completed an AS Level award in English Literature and A Levels in History, Psychology and Art and Design. I then achieved a 2:1 in BSc Applied Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University in 2014. In 2018, I successfully completed a PGCert from the University of Birmingham in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions, and in 2021 I qualified as a teacher of Art and Design.
I am a creative-thinking and motivated individual looking for a new challenge to broaden my horizons. I have previously worked as a psychological talking therapist, and I am also a qualified secondary teacher with extensive experience in schools; which has led me to my current role as an SEN tutor for adolescents who are refusing school attendance. My role is to provide them with the emotional support and encouragement needed to return to school, as well as helping them to learn and revise all curriculum material needed to pass their exams. I relish the opportunity to build positive relationships with others, as this is what motivates me, and I love to see meaningful changes which lead to bright futures; as a result of the work that myself and others have put in. I believe that in order to overcome any challenge, the first step is to identify the barriers to change. This requires the development of trusting relationships with students, as well as their parents and key staff members at their enrolled schools. Once these barriers are identified, we are able to collaboratively come up with a tailored plan to integrate students back into school.
