We believe financial income should not be a barrier, so up to 40% of our places will be given to students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds for absolutely free. Study Mind provides a diverse array of work experience opportunities, with a particular focus on the field of Accounting and Finance. We offer work experience in various branches of accounting, including financial accounting, management accounting, tax accounting, and forensic accounting, among others. Our aim is to furnish students with a broad and well-rounded exposure to the multifaceted world of accounting.

We make special provisions to accommodate our international students who come from abroad, constituting the majority of our student body, accounting for 70%. We offer convenient pick-up services from Heathrow airport to our accommodation, where a Study Mind team member will be there to welcome you. Furthermore, if needed, we will also organize transportation back to your departure terminal.

We recommend this course to anyone aged 14-25. This means any child in Year 9 or above or any graduate entry applicant.

The work experience week is non-refundable once booked. This is because we have to plan for all logistics including accommodation bookings, room bookings and more. If you are unsure whether you can attend but don't want to lose your spot, you can pay a non-refundable deposit of £500 to secure your place. The remaining payment will be due before the start of the course

Safety is paramount to our Work Experience week. Your child will always be accompanied by the Study Mind Safeguarding team for any travel needed.

You will be staying at UCL Accomodation in single rooms where breakfast and dinner will be provided. You will stay here from Sunday night (day before the course) and check-out on Friday so in total 5 nights. There is 24/7 security and Study Mind staff who are first aid and safeguarding trained will be on site to assist. We can also arrange airport pick up for you.

Students coming to the UK for the Work Experience will need a Standard Visitor visa- https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor

The Standard Visitor visa can only be applied for by parents/guardians and costs £100. They must apply through the UK Gov website only, You can name our course and Study Mind as the guardians of under 18s, and provide then the course information and booking confirmation when applying for the visa.

We recommend booking flights first before applying for the visa, as the visa needs proof of a return flight (the course end date might be enough, but might result in rejection).

Many of our students are based overseas and have specific dietary requirements such as being vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, halal, among others. We will make sure to accommodate these needs and make the necessary adjustments to your meals.

During the entire programme, your child will benefit from unwavering assistance provided by our Study Mind team. Our staff members hold DBS enhanced checks and have undergone extensive training in first aid and safeguarding. We guarantee the presence of a female staff member at both our on-site facilities and within our accommodation premises at all times. Additionally, students will be furnished with a 24-hour emergency contact number, which they can utilise whenever needed. If required, this contact number can also be shared with parents and guardians.

The work experience programme extends over five days, with each day starting at 9 am and typically finishing around 3:30 pm. Nevertheless, you will receive a comprehensive timetable in advance, providing exact timings. Should you decide to stay at UCL Halls, we have a delightful array of evening activities prepared for your enjoyment, including movie nights, bowling, and an array of engaging options to choose from.

We acknowledge the difficulties presented by the prevailing economic circumstances regarding initial payments. In order to offer flexibility, we present interest-free installment schemes spanning 3, 6, and 12 months. It's important to be aware, though, that securing your place necessitates a non-refundable deposit of £500.

Reserving our accommodation is not obligatory. You have the choice to either commute or arrange your own lodging if needed. Nevertheless, there are merits to opting for our accommodation. Absolutely! Every student will receive a certificate as compelling proof of their course completion and active participation.
