Engineering School Workshops in a Nutshell
How It Works
Choose from a variety of Engineering stations and craft a tailor-made day that suits your needs. Our team of experts are on hand to answer any questions that your students may have about the field of engineering.
Structural
Students will work in teams to solve the problem of building structures in areas with high seismic activity. They will be given a budget and a variety of materials to choose from before their structures are put to the ultimate test!
Software
During these sessions, students will delve into the world of computer science and can learn the skills of coding, website design, cyber security or virtual reality.
Electronics
Students will learn the intricacies of electronics when they design and build robotics and learn to code them for animation.
Environmental
Students are given a real-world situation and tasked with using renewable energy sources to create solar panelled cars or a wind turbine to generate electricity. You can also opt to learn about sustainable development by creating a water filtration system.
UCAS Application
Throughout the day, we’ll offer students guidance and support on their UCAS application from work experience and university courses to interviews and academic requirements.
I'd like to thank Study Mind for a very well organised engineering workshop. Our students really embraced the different challenges posed to them and the integration of real-world situations really linked to our school's emphasis on the UN sustainable goals. The engineering fair at the end of the day gave them the opportunity to practise their presentation skills and they were very proud of what they'd achieved.
