About Marling School
Marling School is a high-achieving grammar school for boys with a co-educational sixth form with a strong focus on academic excellence. Special educational needs support is below average, and the school became a stand-alone academy in August 2011.
Admissions Requirements
Parents/Carers who wish their children to be considered for entry must register by completing and submitting the Entrance Test Registration Form (available online via the school’s website during the registration period) by the stipulated closing date. Parents/Carers must provide details of any Special Educational Needs or Disabilities on the Entrance Test Registration Form in order for the School to consider appropriate access arrangements.
Application Process
For students attending Marling School, test registration is automatic unless parents opt out. In all other cases, including independent school attendees in Gloucestershire, applicants should apply for testing through the Testing Administrator. Additionally, all applicants must notify their home Local Authority of school preference by the annual closing date set by the Local Authority.

11+ Admissions Test Format
The test consists of questions on verbal ability (comprehension, vocabulary, and verbal reasoning), numerical reasoning, and nonverbal reasoning. Instructions are provided by a prepared audio soundtrack. There are two papers each lasting approximately one hour which include instructions and some work examples. There will be a break between the papers.
