About Me
Hello, my name is Erin and I am a final year medical student at JCU. I’ve been tutoring since grade 10, and have continued to do so all throughout my degree, via both private tutoring session and as a university appointed tutor. Throughout the past year I have completed my final medical exams and have subsequently been given the opportunity by my university to tutor a variety of subjects across all pre-clinical years of medical students. This diversity has allowed me to observe the breadth of content that is required for successful transition to clinical practice, from basic biology and clinical skills experienced by first year students, to the advanced pharmacology and emergency medicine practice learnt by the third years prior to their transition to clinical patient practice. I hope through both my own training, as well as my experience as a tutor, that I can help my students to develop the skills they need for their studies.
My teaching style
My teaching style is very focused on goal oriented learning outcomes and the development of skills required to not only understand the answer required, but also the reasoning and underpinnings required to achieve that answer, to ensure conceptual rather than rote learning.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement would be my successful completion of all my formal tertiary medical training.
