Nina
About Me
Hi, I’m Nina! I’m currently a law finalist at UCL this year, as well as a current member of the UCL Law Society. I have spent the past couple of years tutoring in several areas, including on English literature and language, and also provided students with advice on how to write a good personal statement in preparation for university.
On the LNAT, I scored a 30, a score well above the score required for a successful applicant to Oxford or UCL. While I love studying law, I also have a deep interest in literature and history, and considered studying those subjects initially. This means I have had the chance to experience studying a wide array of subjects.
I have also had the chance to participate in a variety of competitions over the years which have refined my public speaking and essay/speech writing skills.
My teaching style
As I used to get tutored myself when I was younger, I have witnessed several approaches, and seek to use the one most helpful for the individual student. I try to hone in on their strengths and weaknesses in sessions, and ensure that we are focusing on the areas which they can see the highest improvement in.
My past experience
I have tutored both students and adults in the past.
My Proudest Achievements
I recently had the chance to represent UCL in the Intervarsity Mooting Finals, and was awarded the best overall performance and best written and oral submissions. I’m also very proud to be working in the UCL Law Society in the role of the senior mooting officer, as mooting has been incredibly rewarding and allowed me to better develop my speaking and writing skills.
