Vome
About Me
Hello! My name is Vome and I’m a final year medical student at Cardiff University.
My main focus is on helping prospective medical students get into medicine, as I work at my university’s open days and have plenty of experience providing help with interviews, personal statements, admissions tests (particularly UCAT) and more. So far, all the students I have personally helped have been invited to interview at my medical school.
The science content of my degree also means I can tutor prospective medics in A-Level Biology and Chemistry. I run teaching sessions in my current medical school for people in my year and the year below, and have received overwhelmingly positive feedback for my highly interactive, extremely clear teaching style.
Alongside my degree, I am continuing to study German (~B2 level) and offer tutoring for GCSE and A-Level German.
My teaching style
My teaching style is highly interactive – I integrate a lot of questions into my resources and encourage critical thinking. I also use a *lot* of mnemonics as memory aids, particularly for A-Level Chemistry. I go through interview questions systematically and logically, breaking down a useful structure for answering questions in the most appropriate way possible.
My past experience
I have previously tutored students in secondary school, specifically in the sciences. As mentioned above, I also run teaching sessions at medical school in subjects such as neurology.
My Proudest Achievements
I have won awards for academic excellence each consecutive year so far in medical school. I am extremely happy with this and would love to share my learning style with others to help them achieve success.
