7About Me
Hi my name is Lakshana and I am very excited to be a mentor for medic mind! I am currently a 1st year dental student studying at Cardiff University. I received 3 interviews and subsequently 3 offers for dentistry from Cardiff University, Queens University Belfast and University of Liverpool last year just last year so I have very recent experience going through the interview process and would love to share my tips and tricks to help others get in. I also did A level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology and received AAA in my A levels. Being the first year to sit exams after Covid, I have many revision methods that can help students achieve their grades and have a good understanding of exam questions and the right exam techniques that will help get good marks. Most importantly, I am a very friendly person and I provide an environment that’s very comfortable to learn in.
My teaching style
I like to teach at a pace that you as a student feel comfortable with. Mainly, I like focussing on topics that you struggle with most and then working my way to easier topics so you can spend more time understanding the difficult topics.
My past experience
I tutored students aged 9-16 working on maths and English so I am very experienced in adapting my teaching method to tailor to each student to make sure that students can grasp the concept and feel confident in the subject they are learning
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement is being a ball girl for international tennis players at the Fever Tree Championships
