22About Me
Hi, my name is Catherine and I am about to head into my final year of undergraduate Modern History at Queens’ College, University of Cambridge. At A-level history, I studied 20th Century America and the Tudor dynasty, both of which I have continued studying at a university level. I am passionate about 20th-century history in particular, and my third year will focus on that in varying geographical locations such as South Africa and Central Europe.
I have a special interest in feminist history and my upcoming dissertation will discuss American Housewives and their approach to short-form media. I enjoy focusing on social history and how human beings as people interact with the world around them.
In the past, I have engaged in multiple platforms for debate such as in the European Youth Parliament at the National level.
I am an outgoing, friendly person who believes in the value of the Oxbridge system and would love to help aspiring and ambitious students reach their full potential.
My teaching style
My teaching style is highly discussion orientated with a focus on dialogue between me and the student to identify where there are gaps in knowledge quickly. I aim to engage the student with a line of questions that gradually increase in difficulty around a specific topic until they feel confident with their own answers.
My Proudest Achievements
My two proudest achievements are:
Number one, of course, being accepted into Cambridge and achieving my offer- it was amazing seeing my hard work materialise on UCAS.
And secondly, whilst at university, I became the Events President for my college and successfully have thrown two large-scale events for 300 attendees.
