About Me
Hi I’m Jemima
I’m currently a 4th year medical student at Imperial College London. I’m part of our Student’s Union, Netball society and Raising and Giving Societies. I’ve previously been captain for the development team, helping welcome new players/ freshers into the club and aid in learning to manage the immense work-life balance that comes with being part of medical school.
The application process for medicine is incredibly stressful and overwhelming so hopefully I’ll be able to ease that and provide support. I was able to score in the top 2% in my UCAT, and top 1-6% in the BMAT sections, allowing me to receive 4 interviews and luckily turn those into 4 offers from Imperial, UCL, Bristol and Nottingham. This showed me the variety of interview styles and the key tricks/ tips for each step of the application process to help secure your place at medical school.
My teaching style
I like to personalise teaching to help each student work most on their weakest areas to help with a really high and balanced application. I think the best way to score highly in admission tests is practise challenging questions together where I can give some key tips and tricks.
I think it’s really important to do simulated interviews with a variety of questions to help students come up with patterns to answer any questions in the real interviews that will ensure they include all the key points and reflections that interviewers look for.
I can be really flexible with tutoring hours to help support applicants schedules best.
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest achievements was my team winning varsity this year. We started as a team that included very nervous, inexperienced players and by the end we had a really incredible team of confident players that really enjoyed the sport. It helped us all form really great friendships. As captain I was able to help introduce these players to the club and support them with stresses of university life as well.
