Maheen
About Me
Hi my name is Maheen and I am an Engineering student at QMUL. I have been teaching at Kumon for the last four years, interacting with children and narrowing down where they struggle with a topic the most, in order to help them feel more confident in their own answers. Due to this experience I am able to understand that each individual thinks differently and may require help in certain areas of subjects than others, so lessons will be personalised to every student. I know that it can be challenging and nerve racking doing exam practice as I’ve been through it myself but I think doing constant practice of exam questions and reviewing topics enables you to remain calmer and be more concise in the real exams. Science has always been a passion of mine and I wish to share that with students so they can also achieve their goals.
My teaching style
My teaching style includes reviewing over content and answering exam questions on the topic we have learnt in order to solidify the knowledge. Homework is also important as it enables to students to be independent with their work so they can also identify their own strengths and weaknesses. Frequent short quizzes on topics taught previously also maintains the content learnt.
