About Me
Hi! My name’s Mehak and I’m a first year medical student at the University of Birmingham. I scored 3020 (top 4%) on the UCAT for 2023 entrance and scored full marks in the quantitative reasoning section. I was invited for an interview at all 4 universities that I applied to (King’s College London, University of Birmingham, University of Southampton and St George’s) and received offers for 2 (University of Birmingham and University of Southampton)! I studied Biology, Chemistry and Psychology at A-Level and achieved an A* in all three subjects. I also achieved an A* in EPQ which I chose to focus around mental health in adolescents. I achieved nine 9s at GCSE and one 8. Aside from academics, I enjoy drawing and painting. University’s exciting because I’ve gotten to try so many amazing new things, like bhangra for example!
My teaching style
My teaching style is focussed on practice; I like allowing students to put the skills they’ve learnt to use by answering questions i.e. attempting past paper questions. However, it is also very adaptable because I feel that different subjects may need to be taught differently.
