About Me
Hi, my name is Krishan Dilipkumar, and I’m a tutor at MedicMind, here to support students predominantly in the Sciences and Mathematics. I am currently studying Biomedical Engineering at King’s College London, a subject that draws on both these areas and allows me to explore how they can be applied to solve real-world problems. My passion for these subjects drives my teaching, and I aim to make even the most challenging topics clear, engaging, and accessible.
While my primary focus is on helping students excel in sciences and mathematics, I also offer guidance with university applications as a secondary service. Having received offers to study medicine at both Imperial College London and University College London before choosing King’s, I have a solid understanding of what makes a competitive application. Whether it’s preparing for medical school interviews or refining your personal statement, I can share tips and insights to help you stand out.
As a tutor, I am approachable, patient, and committed to tailoring my sessions to suit each student’s individual needs. I know how important it is to create a supportive and encouraging environment that keeps students motivated and confident in their abilities. My aim is to help you build a strong foundation in your subjects while fostering problem-solving skills that will benefit you beyond the classroom.
Flexibility is a key part of my teaching approach, ensuring that sessions fit around your existing commitments and allow you to maintain a healthy balance. Whether you’re aiming to improve your grades, gain confidence in specific topics, or prepare for university applications, I’m here to help you achieve your goals with focus and enthusiasm.
My teaching style
My teaching style focuses on identifying each student’s specific challenges and gauging their initial understanding of the topic. I tailor my approach to address their individual needs, ensuring the learning process is effective and personalised. I prioritise providing a thorough explanation of the material, followed by working through questions of varying difficulty to assess and strengthen their understanding. I prefer an active learning approach, encouraging students to engage with the material through problem-solving and discussion.
I also believe it’s important for the student to dictate what they would like to focus on, ensuring our sessions are as beneficial and relevant as possible. By allowing students to steer their learning priorities, I create a flexible and supportive environment that helps them build confidence and gain a deeper comprehension of the subject matter.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements include captaining my cricket club’s Sunday side, where I developed leadership and teamwork skills while fostering a positive team environment. Additionally, I’m proud to have played district cricket during my younger years, which was a rewarding experience that helped me hone my abilities and discipline in the sport.
