8About Me
I am a skilled teacher with 13 years of experience. I specialise in A-Level Law and Politics, both of which I have led for 11 years. I have been a Head of Social Sciences since 2017, managing a number of departments and have taught GCSE Sociology and Psychology in this time. I have an excellent track record of success and have consistently helped students to achieve or exceed their target grades. I have always received excellent feedback on my teaching and have delivered much CPD to my colleagues on effective teaching. I pride myself on building a strong rapport with students and always endeavour to support them as much as possible. My students have always commented on my passion and genuine enjoyment of teaching. I have a good sense of humour, plenty of patience, am approachable and diligent.
My teaching style
I use research led teaching techniques to inform my planning and delivery. I am skilled at using retrieval techniques to improve memory retention and will always begin a lesson with these. I meticulously plan lessons to ensure that these are not only effective but also enjoyable for students. All lessons will include some form of scaffolding to support students and I enjoying modelling answers with students. Whilst i enjoy teaching content and will include many activities to support this, I have a particular focus in lessons on exam skills which my students have always commented very positively on.

My Proudest Achievements
I am very proud of the career progression I have experienced since I became a teacher and have very much enjoyed the experiences I have had as a result, from overseeing multiple departments as a head of faculty, to mentoring other teachers or providing training across my MAT.
I am proud of my sustained track record of success across my A-level subjects and of the excellent student feedback I have always received.
