Melina
About Me
Hi there! My name is Melina and I am a medical student at the University of Nottingham. I have a First Class bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience. In my free time, I enjoy playing badminton and watching interesting medical documentaries. I speak Farsi fluently. I really enjoy learning anatomy and the neurological side of medicine. Having an extra degree allows me to assist both school leavers and graduates in applying for medicine. I believe the preparation of a successful medical school application requires, resilience and confidence. These are some of the traits I strive to integrate into all my students so that they feel prepared to tackle whatever they may face. I will adapt my teaching style to meet the different needs of each student so that each lesson is personalised to you. Feel free to send me a message and see how I can help you get those medical school offers!
My teaching style
My teaching style can be described as supportive, engaging and personalised to meet the unique needs of each student. I will help you create a fantastic portfolio for medical school, from supporting you in writing a top-notch personal statement to ensuring you know how to answer those tricky medical school interview questions. I will strive to ensure each of my students are confident in whatever interview question they face.
My past experience
I have a background in tutoring students and helping them prepare an excellent application for medical school. I will tailor each lesson to suit my student’s needs, tackle any weaknesses they may have and share my top-tips for UCAT, personal statement and the MMI. The students I have previously mentored were successful in obtaining an offer for their chosen medical school and I have received great feedback on my teaching style.
My Proudest Achievements
In my 3rd year of University, I was the President of the Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) Society, whereby we arranged various guest speaker events. As a society, we raised money to support the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and Syria. This leadership role sparked my passion to travel all around the globe to volunteer for the MSF organisation, once I graduate as a doctor.
