4About Me
Hi! I’m Joshua. I am a 3rd Year studying Computer Systems engineering at University. My course requires frequent use of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics, which are the subjects I am happy to Tutor at both GCSE and A Level.
I understand what its like to not completely grasp a concept in class, or even just need that little bit of extra work to master the subject. Previously I’ve had a little experience helping out classmates in free periods, going over new material, and helping my younger brother out if he’s struggling with homework.
GCSE and A-Levels are some of the most important times in your life (no pressure), and having lived to tell the tale I know that asking for another perspective or different explanation on a concept can be just what you need to get that one topic to finally click.
My teaching style
My teaching style is very centered on whatever is best for the student. I’d start by asking the student what subject areas they’re weakest with, and focus on those, before expanding to the other topics.
My Proudest Achievements
Last term, we had this group project where we had to make a product that worked, but also has a secret compartment with an alert system. I was project manager and my group produced a novelty jukebox who’s alert system was an additional secret song. We ended up going on to win our department’s dragons den with this project, and I’m incredibly proud of it.
