About Me

Hi! I’m Ellie, a third-year medical student at Exeter, with a previous degree in medical sciences. Having been through the application process myself, I understand the challenges of securing a place in medicine, and I’m passionate about guiding students through each step of the journey. I have been through the rigours application process, and would love to help others get through this challenging time!

Whether its improving GCSE or A-level grades, working on personal statements, or interview preparation, I provide tailored support to help students stand out. I focus on building strong communication skills, teaching effective ways to approach ethical scenarios, and preparing students for the kinds of questions and scenarios they’ll face. My goal is to give students the confidence, knowledge, and strategies they need to ace their interviews and begin their medical careers on the right foot.

Let’s work together to make your dream of studying medicine a reality!

My teaching style

Whether we are working on GCSEs, A-levels, or university applications, I have experience with targeting students areas of weakness and building a relationship with the student to understand how they work and ensuring we are making the best progress possible!

For students applying to medical school. We’ll dive into personal statement techniques, interview strategies, and handling ethical scenarios confidently. Drawing from my own experience in gaining a place in medicine, I bring insights that truly help, focusing on critical skills like clear communication, ethical reasoning, and structured responses. My goal is to make preparation enjoyable and confidence-building, empowering you to present your best self. Together, we’ll make sure you’re fully prepared to take on the interview process and reach your dream of studying medicine.

In our medical school specific interview prep sessions, we’ll cover everything you need to stand out confidently. I’ll guide you through common and challenging interview questions, showing you how to craft responses that showcase both your skills and motivations. We’ll work on breaking down ethical scenarios and clinical cases, practicing a step-by-step approach to answer questions clearly and thoughtfully.

Role-playing exercises will help you get comfortable handling different interview formats, whether it’s traditional or multiple mini-interviews (MMIs). Together, we’ll focus on developing skills in body language, communication, and quick thinking so you feel prepared and confident. My goal is to make sure you enter the interview with strategies in place and the ability to present your best self. This way, you’ll not only feel ready but also excited to take on this crucial step toward a career in medicine.

My past experience

I have a strong background as an A-Level Biology tutor, where I’ve helped students achieve the grades they need to reach their goals. Additionally, I have experience mentoring students through the medical school application process, supporting them with everything from personal statements to interview prep. This dual experience has allowed me to guide students not only in mastering the academic content but also in developing the skills and confidence they need to successfully enter competitive programs like medicine.

My Proudest Achievements

My proudest achievements are my Medical Sciences degree, and becoming the first medical student in my family. It’s a milestone that means a lot to me, as I understand the dedication and resilience needed to reach this goal. This experience fuels my passion for helping other aspiring medical students navigate the process, knowing firsthand the impact it can have on both students and their families.
