About Me

Hello, nice to meet you! I hold a first-class bachelor’s degree in Psychology with Education from UCL, and got 40 points overall in IB (year 2019). In the course of tutoring, I aim to help you with previewing and reviewing the content covered in the Psychology syllabus. If you have any specific difficulties or questions relevant to the subject, you are more than welcome to inform me about them before the session and we can look at them together! Also, if you ever find studying psychology being a confusing and frustrating experience, I can also offer tips and tricks that can help you to excel in your exams and the subject.

Besides tackling exams, I am also willing to help you with uni application and excelling at university as a psychology student. I am willing to share my experience of applying to uni (my predicted grades, extracurriculars, personal statements, etc.) and I am able to help you with brainstorming and proofreading your personal statement. I am also happy to answer any questions related to studying Psychology at uni. I can provide study tips at uni and guidance on academic writing (I consistently got 70+ for my essays, and got 80+ for my final-year dissertation). I am also willing to provide psychology career advice (e.g., what kinds of experiences to get at uni level to get into the field you want), as well as help with graduate school application.

My teaching style

I aim to introduce active learning into my tutoring sessions, in which the students are encouraged to actively think about and reflect on the materials we look at. To achieve this, students will be encouraged to ask questions. Also, I will frequently invite students to explain the concepts we have looked at, in order to make sure that they are actively constructing their own knowledge frameworks. I have chosen to adopt this method as its efficacy has been empirically supported, and I personally learned a lot with this method of studying.

I would also try to incorporate past exam questions into the sessions. This can help the students to familiarise themselves with the format and marking criteria of the exam. Also, they may become more familiar with the content that frequently occur on the exams.

My Proudest Achievements

In primary school, I had almost the lowest grades. However, in high school, I ranked the second highest in my cohort. I learned how to study smart so I can achieve high scores without stressing myself out or being super smart : )

I teach

  • IELTS

My Results and Achievements
