About Me
Hi, my name is Elizabeth Darby and I’m studying at Royal Veterinary College, currently, the top-ranked school in the world. I started in September 2021 in their four-year Graduate Accelerated Bachelors of Veterinary Medicine program! I’m an international student that just moved here from Virginia, USA. If you’re looking for a personable tutor that can help you achieve success by enhancing your strengths, turning your weaknesses into advantages then I’m the tutor for you! I’ve been working towards becoming a veterinarian my entire life. Now that I’m finally here, I have plenty of advice on what to do and what not to do, how to practice for the interview and give a timeline to help reach that end goal. In addition, I have already done four years of undergraduate studies in biology along with real-life experiences. My experience can help make the transition a little easier for you.
Regardless, if you have years, months, or days to prepare, I will work with you to diminish the stress so you can feel confident in your application.
My teaching style
My teaching style is to go over your goals and to adapt the tutoring session around them. Open communication and professionalism are key. Setting a list of expectations for each lesson and making sure they have been met by the end of the meeting. Also, leaving the tutoring session feeling hopeful, ambitious, and have a list of tasks that you can work towards to make your dream a reality.
My past experience
Co-manager of Kumon Math and Reading Tutoring Center
One-on-one tutoring with a variety of ages
Mentor in a program called College Mentor for Kids
My Proudest Achievements
Worked for 2 weeks on a project for my creativity class. My out-of-the-box thinking, hard work, and dedication got me out of the final exam, a one hundred on the project, and a lifelong relationship with my professor who wrote one of my recommendation letters for my veterinary application.
Stepping out of my comfort zone during undergrad when I traveled to Florida for a 12-week internship at a GFAS big cat sanctuary. I left everything I knew behind for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
