8About Me
I have taught in inner London secondary schools for 13 years as a Lead Practitioner for English, achieving excellent student outcomes for all prior attainment groups and can cater to a student’s bespoke needs.
I have examiner experience, having worked for the exam board as a freelance examiner for 3 years – one year on GCSE English Language Paper 2; two years on GCSE English Literature Paper 2.
My teaching experience is mainly with AQA, having taught on the literature syllabus: Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, Jekyll and Hyde, An Inspector Calls, Blood Brothers, Pigeon English, and Lord of the Flies, and both Power and Conflict & Love and Relationships Anthologies of poems.
Friendly, encouraging, but with high expectations, my tutoring experience has always led to students making progress so that they reach their goals and aspirations.
My teaching style
With a focus on instructional methods such as Rosenshine’s principles; subject pedagogical strategies such as authentic reader response; memory science; diagnostic knowledge testing; vocabulary development; and lots of practice that is faded in guidance over time to promote independence; tutoring sessions are based on the most recent pedagogical research.

My Proudest Achievements
