About Me
Hi, I’m an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Professional in the NHS. I train staff on Neurodiversity and have in-depth knowledge of Neurodivergent learning and development.
I have ADHD, which has meant I have lived experience of the challenges this poses in education and have developed strategies to overcome them.
I have gone from inconsistent grades despite high potential because I didn’t know how to work with my strengths and support my challenges properly, to gaining consistent top marks in my recent postgraduate degree and receiving an award from my university for my dissertation.
I have an A-level in Sociology, and an (2:1) undergraduate and (distinction) postgraduate degree in Social Policy ad Criminology focused on social inequalities (the bread and butter of sociology studies). I believe fully in positive reinforcement, and have a knack for making people feel confident and good about themselves.
My teaching style
Sociology is an inherently discussion heavy subject and so I will encourage exploration and expression of views, and teach my pupils how to back up their opinions with research. I am a big believer in positive reinforcement and so will focus on what my pupils do right and are good at, to help develop confidence in themselves.
My Proudest Achievements
Gaining my distinction grade masters degree and distinction in my masters dissertation, despite juggling parenting and a job alongside studies. Also, getting my dream job as an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion adviser in the NHS, and developing and delivering the most successful training programme our team has ever seen.
