22About Me
Hi! I’m Flora, a 1st year biomedical sciences student at the University of Oxford and a former student at Westminster School. I did maths, chemistry, physics, and biology for A Levels and achieved 4A*s, as well as 10A*s in my IGCSEs. For my BMAT, I achieved S1 6.8, S2 6.5, and S3 3.5A, putting me in the top 5-10% of all students. Apart from Oxford, I also received offers from Imperial, UCL and Warwick. Having experienced the entire Oxbridge admission process, I believe I can give you the best help, regardless it is A Level/IGCSE tutoring, personal statement writing, BMAT prep, or interview preparations. Being an international student and having only started studying in the UK system since year 11, I understand the difficulty of adapting to a different system and a different language, as well as the leap from GCSEs to A Level, so I can help you bridge the gap and have a better grasp at all the concepts. I also have a passion for languages, and I’m fluent in Mandarin, English, German, and Spanish. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you’re interested!
My teaching style
My teaching method is tailored to individual needs, having taught students with their age groups spanning from 8-year-olds to those well into their 40s. The lesson would be very interactive, asking the student various questions when going over materials to leave no stone unturned. Practice/exam questions would also be included to ensure they have a good grasp of the concept.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements would be my entire academic journey from IGCSE to where I am now. I only did IGCSE for one year, and before that, I hardly had any prior knowledge of most of the subjects, including all sciences. I only started my IGCSE study less than two months before I had to do my Westminster School entrance exams, both written and interview. Not only did I get in at the end, but I also achieved 10A*s, making me the top of my school. Having not much foundation before year 11, initially, I struggled a lot with my A Levels, but eventually, I was able to catch up and grasp all the knowledge and concepts, finally landing me with 4A*s and an Oxford offer. It was a challenging journey, but at the end it was all worth it and I really enjoy what I am doing now!
