About Me
Hi there, my name is Dania Khalid!
I am a professional and keen tutor that will strive to help you achieve your full potential.
I will aim to make my lessons engaging and informative, implementing the study techniques I used myself to get top grades at GCSE and A level. I have a year and a half worth of experience as a tutor, during which I have developed skills to approach difficult concepts and topic areas in order to break them down to be more easily understood.
I believe that our mindset has a huge impact on our achievements, and it is essential to adopt a positive way of thinking, by seeing failure as an opportunity to improve and viewing rejection as redirection, we can improve our performance in all areas of life, not just school! This is something that I like to focus on in lessons to ensure that students can tackle any problems during their revision.
Outside of academics, I really love reading, particularly thriller books!
My teaching style
I believe that tutoring is all about building on previous understanding of a subject and filling in gaps in knowledge. I would start off the lesson by first going through the topic and ensuring that the student has asked any questions if needed, then I would check their understanding by quick fire questions and exam practice and lastly I would set homework to ensure that they revisit the information in their own time.
My past experience
I was a primary school tutor at a local tuition centre for over a year, during which I aided students in their preparation for SATS. I also worked with children working at a KS3 level, aiming to improve their maths and English skills in preparation for GCSE years.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement is my A Level result, in which I managed to get A*AA in biology, chemistry and psychology. I am happy with how far I’ve come, and how I improved my grades drastically from the start of year 12 to the end of year 13.
