About Me

I am a Graduate Human scientist from Oxford University where I studied an interdisciplinary course with key modules such as; Statistics, Genetics, Physiology, Evolution, Ecology, Demography, Anthropology, Sociology and Social Geography. Before graduating from Oxford I was one of the highest performing students in my college achieving AAAB at A-level in English language, Law and Sociology with an extended qualification and being amongst the top 2% nationally for GCSE results in 2017 the first year to study under the numbers system giving me experience with the new syllabus. Since graduating I am pursuing a career in teaching and have been teaching within the classroom. I am gaining a TESOL qualification qualifying me to teach internationally. I have lengthy experience tutoring, English, Maths, Science, History and Sociology as well the subjects I have picked up during my degree. Studying at Oxford I have also gained expertise regarding Oxbridge admissions, having worked closely with Oxbridge outreach programmes over the last 3 years. As well as my own successful application I have advised prospective students in regard to personal statement writing, interviews and general guidance. I am also a member of the National Youth Theatre, a competitive organisation and offer coaching in regards to successful application as well as GCSE drama tutoring and voice coaching.

My teaching style

My teaching style is largely adaptable to the student. I have online as well as real life experience with collaborative teaching, guiding the student to confidently work individually in absence of a tutor. Enhancing problem solving skills makes for a strong exam candidate and I achieve this through tailored testing that addresses a students weaknesses to equip them for the impromptu nature of exams. As well as this I offer in depth explanations that aid in providing the context of which the content is relevant that can be helpful for neurodivergent learners.

My past experience

I am currently working teaching Monday to Friday in a school, predominately teaching English with key modules in reading, creative writing, presentations and careers. I have 6 years experience with tutoring English, Maths, Science and History. I have more recently started tutoring Sociology in the last 3 years. Currently working as a teacher and gaining my TESOL qualification has built upon the experience I have tutoring and made me a well rounded educator.

My Proudest Achievements

One of my proudest achievements would be graduating from Oxford, the school i went to prior was underfunded thus first gaining my offer was largely through self teaching and resilience. These skills were largely transferable throughout my degree, thus when i finally graduated there was a large sense of accomplishment. One of my first experiences with teaching was through teaching myself and this largely filled me with the belief that students who may be underpredicted, under supported or lack confidence can achieve great things. My own achievements are evidence of this and the reason I strive to help students that are struggling, neurodivergent or simply need someone to actively help and believe in them.
