Isaac
About Me
I’m Isaac, a PhD researcher in Statistics and Machine Learning at Imperial College London and Oxford University, with a First-Class MMath from Durham University. My academic journey includes a background in theoretical mathematics like geometry and algebra, an international exchange at Bologna University where I developed fluency in Italian, and a more recent focus on applied machine learning and statistics. I’ve also spent time in industry as a technical intern at IBM and lead data scientist at a medtech start-up.
I have over a year of teaching experience in various countries and with students at all levels. Whether you need help understanding challenging topics in mathematics, programming in Python, or statistical analysis, I offer patient, personalised support designed to inspire confidence and achieve tangible results. Let’s work together to meet your academic goals!
My teaching style
My teaching style is friendly, approachable, and highly adaptable. The best teachers I have had have encouraged me set my own goals and explore my own learning paths; I aspire to do the same in my teaching. I focus on inspiring confidence in my students while tailoring my methods to suit their individual needs. I believe in fostering a collaborative learning environment where students feel empowered to take ownership of their education. In doing so, I help build independence, critical thinking, and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject. Together, we create a supportive atmosphere that ensures lasting success.
