Maansib
About Me
Hi, My name is Maansib and I am a 6th and final year medical student at University College London (UCL). I have been a tutor for 8 years running now with a wealth of experience in both private tuition and teaching at tutoring centres. I teach GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics and A-level Biology and Chemistry which all form integral parts of my own course.
Throughout my years of teaching, I have tutored a wide variety of students with varying methods of learning and skillsets. This has challenged me and kept me passionate about my work. I have learnt so much from my students and have implemented their feedback to improve my teaching techniques.
Having been a full-time student for many years I can understand how difficult it can be to balance multiple subjects and responsibilities and I always aim to lift that burden off my students by providing them with a bespoke and personalised timetable which they can apply to their work even outside of our sessions.
I aim to enable my students to enjoy their studies and find a passion in excelling in their work which builds the perfect platform to get the best grades at GCSE and A-level.
My teaching style
I am a very thorough and patient teacher. I like to ensure my student’s have fully understood a topic or concept before moving forward. I understand the importance of applying the knowledge that is taught so I always make sure to add exam questions throughout my sessions to test the content that has been taught.
I am also a holistic teacher and aim to build success in my student’s work even outside of our sessions. To do this I ensure my student’s have an effective timetable and are consistent and efficient in their work. Throughout my years of being a student I have learnt the sheer importance of managing time so I want to ensure my student’s build good habits regarding time management which will be a lifelong skill for them.
My past experience
I have 8 years worth of experience in tutoring both at tutoring centres and privately, both via zoom/teams and in person.
I also have experience in delivering multiple tutorials to younger medical students at medical school.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement is getting a first class degree in Neuroscience iBSC during my third year in medical school.
My work was also published in a reputable Neuroscience journal. It was very difficult to achieve this as our research was greatly set back by the pandemic and multiple lockdowns.
