9About Me
Hi prospective students / parents,
I am Udam and I’m currently studying at the university of Peradeniya as a 2nd year undergraduate following the degree of Statistics and Operations research. It is a special program offered by the university which only has an intake of 40 students each year which I’m privileged to be apart of . I have been tutoring for the last 3 years to both primary and secondary students with a company based in the UK which gives me a the experience to give the student a competitive edge when it comes to facing their SATs, GCESEs and A-Levels. Studying Mathematics and Statistics and having a cumulative GPA of 3.9 for those 2 subjects keeps me in touch with the subject and promote good conceptual understandings as well.
Outside of my work I am the vice captain of the university boxing team and also an active member of the toastmasters club . I also take a keen interest on the psychological aspects of things and is an avid reader. I truly believe this elements have an enhancing influence on my tutoring skills.

My teaching style
My teaching style would vary from student to student based on their capabilities and how they feel about the subject but it would be a blend of me being the facilitator as well the demonstrator . As a facilitator i would create an environment for student to actively participate in the lesson and voice his/her thought process to understand the concept while I provide the necessary direction while taking the role of the demonstrator. My past experience teaching helps me figure out the perfect blend of teaching styles to employ based on the student.
My past experience
Yes I have almost 3 years of experience working as a qualified primary and secondary tutor working at Thirdspace Learning (based in the UK) and also I take the role of a Student mentor to help students with their academic activities.
My Proudest Achievements
Getting selected to the program of Statistics and Operations Research.
Having a GPA of 3.9 for both Mathematics and Statistics.
Tutoring more than 100 students in the span of 3 years as a primary and secondary tutor.
