About Me
I am currently a graduate entry medic at the university of Warwick and have been enjoying my time so far. I have always enjoyed learning about the body and how the body combats diseased states, hence why I studied biomedical science as my undergraduate degree.
Although I study medicine I have a wide variety of interests. One of these interests includes language learning. Although I studied biomedical science as my undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield, I continued to learn Spanish throughout all 3 years of my undergraduate degree as an additional module. This led me to achieving a B1 (intermediate) certification in Spanish. My love for language learning stems from attending a school that prioritised language learning. Fun fact, I learnt German, Spanish and mandarin all throughout my years in secondary school. I also really enjoy sports and always have the attitude of trying a new sport at least once. I was heavily involved in gymnastics during my time in university.
My teaching style
I take a very approachable and flexible approach to tutoring. I am a very good listener so I start by understanding the person. I try to understand where they feel confident as well as what areas they would like to improve on. After learning what I can from a person, I take a cooperative approach by building a strategy that suits the person in order to help them reach the outcomes they desire.
I think being collaborative during teaching has shown to make the teaching environment effective and interactive
My past experience
yes, I tutored year 9’s and year 12’s to help them achieve their aspirations including introducing year 12’s to the medicine application process
My Proudest Achievements
I think setting the goal of trying to complete every sport at my previous university. Although I didn’t achieve it (I did 28/51) I was so proud of pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I got to meet new people and create new experiences. This is probably one of the things I am most proud of!
