About Me
Hi my name is Leo and I am a Final Year medical student at Imperial College London.
I am enthusiastic about getting as many students into medical school as possible. I didn’t get much help or have many resources when I was applying for medical school. This is why I am striving to support students achieve their potential, especially with medicine being more competitive than ever.
Therefore, attaining a place in medical school is possible for any pupil with my support!
I am an approachable person with a genuine passion for teaching via my novel, unique methods, which engage students more effectively and ensure that they retain the learnt information. My teaching style aims to cater students at different academic levels and you will see improvement incredibly quickly!
Thus, I offer tutoring for UCAT, BMAT, personal statement advice, medical interviews, A-levels, GCSEs and more.
My teaching style
BMAT: initial sessions will involve demystifying the 3 sections and introducing relatively simple concepts. This is followed by a steep progression from simple to very difficult questions in subsequent sessions. The first half of each session will be teaching concepts. The second half will involve my students completing questions tailored to the topics taught in a set time, and then they will receive specific feedback for each question. Also, all the material used will be available to my pupils, including the correct answers with model explanations.
Medical School Interview: from my past experience of successfully getting through medical interviews, I will be covering core interview questions and topics, followed by more niche questions to ensure my pupils are prepared for any question. Importantly, I will be teaching the “right” and “wrong” way of answering each question. Then, my students will practise answering questions in front of me and I will be providing instant feedback on how to make their answers more unique to impress interviewers. Also, I will be conducting special mock interviews, including simulations of difficult interviewers, near their interview dates, both Panel and MMI, to boost their confidence and complete their preparation. All the material used will be available to my pupils.
A-Levels: having achieved 3 A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and an A in Physics, I am well prepared to teach these subjects to ensure that my pupils achieve the A* they deserve! My sessions will involve teaching a specific topic, tailored to my student’s curriculum, and then they will be tested on the concepts taught via past paper questions. My student and I will together mark the questions and discuss areas of improvement, which they can practise outside my sessions. Also, all the material used will be available to my pupils, including my flashcards and notes.
GCSEs: having achieved 12 A*s, my teaching method is perfect to help my students achieve the best GCSEs!
