Annabel
About Me
Hello! I’m Annabel, a second-year psychology student at the University of Cambridge, and I’m here to help students excel in psychology, English. I’ve been tutoring since my A-levels, focusing on breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable steps tailored to each student’s learning style. I’m passionate about building confidence and fostering curiosity, helping students achieve their goals while making learning engaging and enjoyable.
My tutoring sessions are designed to suit each individual. Whether you’re tackling tricky essay questions, preparing for exams, or exploring advanced topics, I’ll work with you to create a plan that fits your needs. For students aiming for top universities, I am also able offer guidance on Oxbridge interview preparation. Drawing on my own experience successfully navigating the process, I’ll help you approach your personal statement and interviews with confidence, teaching you how to think critically, communicate effectively, and stand out.
Outside of tutoring, I play for the university women’s rugby team and love making jewellery in my free time, to unwind.
My goal is to help students not just succeed academically but also develop the confidence and skills to tackle challenges independently. Whether you’re looking for support with schoolwork, exam preparation, or university applications, I’m here to guide and inspire you every step of the way.
My teaching style
My teaching philosophy is that lessons should be entirely tailored to the individual needs of each student. I strongly believe that every student is capable of achieving their goals with the right guidance and support, and my aim is to instill them with the confidence to do just that.
In our first session, I focus on assessing the student’s needs and building a strong rapport. From there, we work collaboratively to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. I encourage students to view mistakes as valuable learning experiences, helping them remember the positive aspects of growth rather than dwelling on setbacks.
I strongly believe that a positive mindset can transform the learning process. My lessons are engaging, supportive, and designed to foster progress week by week, while ensuring that learning is an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

My Proudest Achievements
Achieving top marks in my A-levels, securing a place at Cambridge University, and excelling in my studies are all proud moments for me, though I am especially pleased to have been elected social secretary for my university poetry society. So far I’ve organised events that foster creativity, collaborated with charities, and have had the opportunity to meet inspirational figures in the realm of literature.
