About Me
Hello! I’m a second-year dentistry student at Newcastle University, and I’m excited to share my expertise in helping students prepare for their future in medicine and dentistry. I’ve been fortunate to receive four university offers—two from medical schools and two from dental schools—demonstrating my commitment and understanding of what it takes to succeed in these competitive fields.
Having achieved high scores twice in both the UCAT and BMAT, I know the importance of thorough preparation. I specialise in interview tutoring, personal statement guidance, and UCAT preparation, drawing from my own experiences, of those around me, and my success in these areas. I’ve also tutored for various 11+ exams, giving me a well-rounded understanding of the academic journey.
I believe that effective tutoring is essential for aspiring medical and dental students, as it not only boosts confidence but also sharpens the skills necessary for success. Additionally, I emphasize the value of extracurricular activities. As a Grade 6 pianist, a black belt in jiu-jitsu, and an avid netballer, I understand how well-rounded interests can enhance a student’s application and personal development.
I’m passionate about guiding students to reach their goals and look forward to supporting your child on their academic journey!
My teaching style
I genuinely care about each of my student’s growth and success, going above and beyond to help them achieve their dreams. I provide complimentary, comprehensive notes for every section I tutor, whether it’s UCAT or interviews, and I incorporate tailored mock tests and timed exercises to build confidence.
I assign relevant research and tasks to reinforce learning, and I particularly encourage my students to reach out with questions between lessons at no extra charge. Furthermore, to maximise our learning time, at the end of each lesson, I promptly send personalized key takeaways to help them retain what we’ve covered.
I believe in empowering students to take the lead in our sessions while also offering honest feedback on their strengths and areas for improvement. My friendly, welcoming, and non-judgmental approach creates a safe space where students feel secure to explore and grow. I’m here to support them every step of the way!
My past experience
I’m passionate about helping students navigate their paths to medicine and dentistry, especially since I have had the unique experience of applying to and reviewing offers for both, giving me a deep understanding into the admissions process for each field. With experience tutoring for interviews at Lancaster, Leeds, Keele, and Newcastle, I’ve gained valuable insights into the different interview styles and what makes each unique. I’ve created detailed notes for each university to ensure my students feel well-prepared and confident.
I enjoy working closely with students on their personal statements, guiding them in crafting compelling narratives that stand out to admissions teams. I understand the importance of the right words and experiences to share.
Additionally, I specialise in UCAT tutoring and have helped students turn their scores around, including the Situational Judgment Test, through focused support and practice.
My goal is to share my knowledge and experience in a way that empowers students and reassures parents. I’m here to support each student on their journey, ensuring they feel confident and prepared every step of the way.
My Proudest Achievements
I’m truly grateful to have received multiple offers for dentistry from my dream universities, including my first choice. Achieving AAA at A-levels was a significant milestone for me, especially after navigating the challenges that year 13 brings along the way. Surviving my first year of university has shown me that I have what it takes to tutor others, and I’m excited to share that journey.
I earned a black belt in jiu-jitsu, which reflects my dedication and commitment to personal growth. Additionally, I achieved the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and was honored to receive personal congratulations from the Duke of Edinburgh himself. These experiences mean a lot to me, and they inspire my passion for helping others succeed.
