About Me
Hello! I’m thrilled to introduce myself as a dedicated tutor with a unique background in both mathematics and counselling. I graduated from the University of Warwick, where I studied Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics, and Economics (MORSE). My journey through academia has fueled my passion for mathematics, and I am now eager to share my love for the subject with students who seek to not only improve their skills but also discover the joy that math can bring.
My time at Warwick was a formative period that solidified my commitment to the world of mathematics. The MORSE program gave me a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of mathematical principles and their real-world applications. I was privileged to delve deeply into statistics, economics, and operational research, where mathematics goes beyond theory to solve complex, practical problems. I learned to see mathematics not as an isolated subject, but as a versatile tool that informs many other fields.
During my studies, I discovered that mathematics is far more than numbers, equations, or abstract concepts. For me, it became a way of thinking—a systematic approach to tackling challenges and developing solutions. This realization is something I aim to share with my students. I hope to inspire them to see math not just as a subject to pass but as a skill that opens doors and ignites curiosity.
My teaching style
Tutoring, for me, is not just about helping someone improve their grades or master a concept. It’s about sharing the sense of accomplishment that comes with understanding, solving, and appreciating the intricacies of a mathematical problem. I firmly believe that every student has the potential to succeed in mathematics. Often, all that’s needed is a different perspective, a patient guide, and a supportive environment where they can explore and question without fear of making mistakes.
My past experience
I have experience tutoring at an in-person centre called Achieve, where I worked for two years, teaching Maths and English to the GCSE level. During my time there, I discovered that I am patient and adaptable, with a creative approach to teaching. I also developed effective strategies for working productively with children, helping them to engage with the material and achieve their academic goals.
