3About Me
I am an experienced tutor with seven years of experience. I am currently Head of Year 12 and Head of Criminology at an Ofsted rated Outstanding school. I have a 100% pass rate with all my tutees getting one grade or more higher in their A-levels than predicted. I currently mark for AQA and have done so for the last three years. I am keen to excel your child’s potential by suiting each lesson to their needs. With my background, I am very versatile and can change teaching styles or content at any point during the lesson. I also like to teach key study skills which students can use throughout all of their subjects to support their attainment. Examples include the use of key terminology, application questions and creating mark schemes to assess if knowledge is competent. I have found that success revision technique is vital to academic success.
My teaching style
My teaching style is very interactive. In Psychology, key terminology is very important to gain all available marks. This is a key focus in lessons with me. I also focus on creating semantic memories by incorporating colour and pictures to make learning stick. Furthermore, I use a I do, we do, you do approach to learning to ensure that my tutee is confident in what they are doing.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement is my progression as a teacher. In my first 2 years of teaching I have been promoted twice, which is due to my determination and resilience. I want the same for all of my students.
