The Study Mind Dentistry Work Experience Programme was an incredible opportunity to gain real insight into life as a dentist. The dental practice days were my favourite – I got to observe patient consultations, learn about different procedures, and even practise taking impressions on a model. The UCAT revision workshop was also really helpful, especially the strategy tips for tackling verbal reasoning. The experience made me even more certain that dentistry is the right career for me!

I loved how hands-on and immersive this work experience programme was! The dental practice days were really well-structured, and I got to see everything from check-ups to more complex procedures like fillings and extractions. The team explained things so clearly and encouraged us to ask questions. The mock MMI circuit was also a game-changer – it really helped me understand what to expect in my actual interviews and how to improve my answers. I feel so much more confident applying to dental school now!

One of the best things about this programme was how flexible it was. I was able to tailor my experience by choosing extra UCAT and MMI preparation days alongside my time in dental practice. This meant I could focus on areas I needed the most help with while still getting real-world dental experience. I now feel much more prepared for the application process, and the mentors gave great advice on writing my personal statement too!

The work experience days at the dental practice were so engaging – I got to shadow dentists and learn about different specialisms, from orthodontics to oral surgery. The mentors made sure we understood what was happening and encouraged us to think critically about patient cases. The UCAT workshop also helped me boost my score, especially for decision making. I’d highly recommend this programme to anyone serious about dentistry – it’s a perfect mix of practical experience and application support!
