About Me

Hello, my name is David Ha, and I am a friendly, adaptable tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students reach their potential. I am currently studying Medicine (MBBS) at the University of Central Lancashire, after completing a foundation programme with ONCAMPUS UK North. I also hold a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and Flight Operation, giving me a strong grounding in mathematics, science, and analytical thinking.

I have been tutoring since 2019, offering personalised support in maths, science, and medical school interview preparation. I work with students of all ages and abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), using tailored strategies to simplify complex concepts and build confidence. I also support aspiring medical students through structured interview coaching, focusing on ethical reasoning, communication skills, and NHS knowledge.

With experience in healthcare volunteering, teaching, and military service, I bring patience, clarity, and professionalism to every session. My aim is to make learning engaging, supportive, and truly student-focused.

My teaching style

My teaching style is student-centred, adaptable, and supportive. I focus on understanding each learner’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals, then tailor my approach to suit their needs. Whether I’m teaching maths, science, or preparing students for medical school interviews, I break down complex ideas into simple, relatable steps, using real-life examples and interactive methods to keep sessions engaging.

I encourage questions, build confidence through positive reinforcement, and create a calm, respectful environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. With SEND learners, I am especially mindful of pacing, communication style, and emotional support, while for aspiring medical students, I offer structured guidance in critical thinking and interview skills.

Above all, I aim to make each session purposeful, personalised, and empowering.

My Proudest Achievements

.One of my proudest achievements as a tutor has been seeing a SEND student I worked with gain acceptance into college after years of struggling with confidence and academic engagement. Through consistent, tailored support in maths and science, and by building a trusting relationship, we were able to turn learning into something they felt capable of managing, and even enjoying.

I’m also proud to have helped several students secure offers from UK medical schools. By combining subject tutoring with focused interview preparation, including ethical discussions, NHS topics, and communication skills, I’ve supported aspiring medical students in building both academic strength and the confidence to express themselves clearly and professionally. Knowing I’ve had a meaningful impact on their journeys is incredibly rewarding.
